A Michigan man was reported missing after he failed to show up for Christmas at his parents’ house where it was later discovered he was mutilated and partially eaten by his Grindr date.
Kevin Bacon, a hairstylist, was last seen leaving for his Grindr date with Mark Latunski on Christmas eve.
Police searched Latunski’s home after the evidence had lead them to believe that Bacon had been at his residence.
According to the court transcripts, Bacon’s body was found by the police hanging naked from the ceiling by his ankles, with his throat slashed. Parts of his body were reported missing, including his testicles.
“Mr Latunski stated he used a knife, stabbed him in the back one time, then slit his throat,” Detective sergeant James Moore said.
“Afterwards, Mr Latunski stated he wrapped rope around the ankles of Mr Bacon, and hung him from the rafters on the ceiling”. Moore revealed that Latunski admitted to mutilating the body and consuming the testicles.
Bacon’s family said they were inundated with support from the community, with hundreds of people gathering at the local high school for his memorial. Hollywood actor Kevin Bacon (no relation) was said to have sent his condolences too.
“He obviously got into something he wasn’t prepared for. We all make mistakes. It’s gut-wrenching to hear the details and we’re just beside ourselves,” The victim’s father told WILX10.
“What was released today shows Kevin had a dark side. For those who knew and loved Kevin did not know that side. Those who knew him knew his good side. He loved and cherished everyone he touched and he touched a lot of lives in the past during his short life”.
“My brother Kevin was taken suddenly from the people who loved him,” his sister, Jennifer, wrote.
Just a month before Bacon’s murder, police responded to a bizarre incident at Latunski’s house when a neighbour saw him chasing a partially nude man wearing a leather kilt. Though, the man had blood on his face and was screaming for help, a police investigation determined no crime had been committed
and no charges were pressed.
