The Goodman Gallery Cape Town will open Hata, a new series of paintings and drawings by Misheck Masamvu, his third solo exhibition with the gallery on Saturday July 20.
The opening coincides with the launch of a monograph, also titled Hata, edited by curator Gabi Ngcobo, who will be in conversation with Masamvu at 11:30am on the day of the opening.
Taken from Shona, the word Hata commonly refers to a cushion used to soften the load atop one’s head.
