New Mr Gay World crowned

Mr Gay World and the two runners up.
Janjep Carlos, from the Philippines, was crowned Mr Gay World 2019 at a gala event held on Saturday May 4 at the Cape Town City Hall.

The first runner up was Fransisco Alvarado from Spain and the second runner up was Oliver Pusztai from Hungary.

Chris Emmanuel represented South Africa.

Cape Town stepped up to host the event following safety concerns in Hong Kong. It was the fourth time that the competition was held on the African continent.

The annual event is used as a platform to address issues of homophobia and promote inclusion, humanity and equality.
